The Art of Remembering

I paint the memories, atmospheres, and the objects that carry a life's weight. Wedding dresses worn once and kept for decades, the way light fell on a particular afternoon, faces that changed everything. If there's something you want to hold onto, I'd like to talk about it.

Commissions

What I paint

I paint subjects that matter to the people who ask for them — portraits, objects, places, moments. If there's something in your life that deserves more careful attention than it's received, that's usually where the best work begins.

Every commission is an original oil on wood panel. Many incorporate genuine 23-karat gold, silver, or copper leaf, selected for what it adds to the particular subject.

Starting price

$2,300 — framed 12 × 16 in. original oil painting

Larger sizes and custom configurations are available. Payment plans can be arranged. A 50% deposit reserves your place on the commission calendar; the remainder is due at completion.

How it works

1. We talk. You tell me about the subject. What it is, what it means, what you want the painting to carry. I'll tell you what I see in the material and how I'd approach it.

2. I propose a size and format. Once we've agreed on direction and you've placed a deposit, you're on the calendar.

3. I paint. Most commissions take six to eight weeks.

4. When it's finished, I'll send the final photographs before we arrange delivery or pickup.

I take a limited number of commissions each year. If you're considering a piece tied to a specific date — a wedding, an anniversary — reaching out early gives us the most room to work.
