We hide behind what shines. The gold leaf in these paintings acts as both shield and mirror — a gilded filter through which the self chooses what to reveal and what to keep protected. The world's gaze is reflected back at itself. These are paintings about voyeurism, about the performance of self, about the stories we present when we sense we are being watched."
