THE WANDERING MUSE STUDIO

The Wandering Muse is Shannon Soldner's working studio in Rocheport, Missouri, open to the public Friday through Sunday. It is where the paintings are made, where smaller works are available, and where the gold leaf pieces can be experienced in person. Commissions are available by inquiry.

The studio is open and unhurried. Visitors are welcome to come in, see work in progress, and spend time with the paintings.

The Wandering Muse is where Shannon returns between travels, bringing back the source material and observations that feed her practice. The studio is the place where those experiences become paintings.

TEACHING & STUDIO MEMBERSHIP

For artists who want to develop a sustained practice, the studio offers two ways to work together.

Studio Membership

Every Thursday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, the studio opens as a shared working space for up to eight painters. Members bring their own projects and work at their own pace while Shannon works alongside them at her easel. When something isn't working, she's there to help think it through — not in a formal teaching capacity, but in the way artists have always learned, by being in the room with someone further along in their practice. This is the atelier model: observation, practice, and guidance when it's actually needed. Membership includes weekly studio access, quarterly group critiques, and a ten percent discount on workshops and private lessons. The cost is $145 per month on a month-to-month basis. Members should have completed at least four lessons or have equivalent independent experience and be ready to work on their own projects with occasional guidance rather than structured instruction. Membership is limited to keep the environment intimate and focused.

Private Lessons & Workshops

For painters early in their practice, private lessons and small-group workshops are available at all levels. Sessions are tailored to where you are, whether that means building a technical foundation, working through a body of work, or finding your way into a more consistent creative life.
